Pass or block

Vallum rules are applied to “managed apps”, each apps having its own independent set of rules.
A rule can be only a PASS rule or a BLOCK rule. The subject of the rule can be a the whole Internet, a single IP address, a single or a list of TCP/UDP ports, a CIDR subnet, a hostname.
Each app can have as many rules as you need. Rules can be added or removed on the fly.
“Managed apps” are apps listed in Vallum apps view.
So to configure Vallum you need to populate the Managed apps view, then set their rules.
Vallum offers more ways to define rules. For example you can set exclusions, or enable notification alerts.
