Legacy System Extension

A note about Legacy System Extension alert on macOS 10.15.4

Starting from macOS 10.15.4 all Vallum and Scudo users will be notified with a system alert:

Both Vallum and Scudo uses Network Kernel Extensions, just like all their competitors, to provide application-layer network filter. This technology has been deprecated on macOS 10.15.4 Catalina.

Being deprecated means only that this technology will not work on next major macOS upgrade (macOS 10.16).
Both Vallum and Scudo continue to work as usual on current macOS Catalina 10.15.4 and older systems.

This alert has nothing to do with Murus.
Murus is a front end for PF, it does not use any kernel extension, thus is not affected by this issue.

We are working at Vallum 4 and Scudo 2 using a new technology that replaces the old deprecated Network Kernel Extensions.
Both Vallum 4 and Scudo 2 will be free upgrades.
